Following a significant increase in trucking costs in previous periods, the market is showing the first signs of rate stabilization, however, the balance between the demand for and supply of transport has not yet been restored. The active phase of the harvest and the export of new crops continue to sustain a high demand for grain carriers. This was reported to Latifundist.com by Ukrvantazh AGRO.

Moreover, the situation is increasingly dependent on the specific region and route length: rates are being adjusted downwards for short hauls, while on medium routes, a transport deficit continues to support prices. Thus, the market is shifting from a general increase in rates to a more localized price dynamic, where the availability of grain carriers in a specific region, haul distance, and security risks become decisive factors.

Last week, the demand for grain road transport remained high, although the total volume of requests remained almost unchanged compared to the previous week. At the same time, the supply of available transport grew more slowly, leading to an imbalance between the demand for transport and the number of available grain carriers in certain key agricultural regions.

The highest demand was observed in the Mykolaiv region. Regions with the greatest need for grain carriers also included Dnipropetrovsk, Lviv, Odesa, and Kyiv regions.

Rate dynamics remained mixed. On short routes up to 200 km, the cost of transportation decreased by an average of 1-9%. This trend is largely due to an increase in the proportion of short hauls in the transportation structure.

At the same time, the most noticeable price increase was observed on routes of 401-500 km, where rates rose by an average of 5%. On other routes, price fluctuations were insignificant, ranging from 0.4-1%.

The highest tariffs continue to be recorded in front-line regions – Dnipropetrovsk, Mykolaiv, Kherson, and Chernihiv regions. The formation of rates here is influenced by increased security risks, more complex working conditions, and additional costs for carriers.
