Phytosanitary inspections of crops confirm the continued development and feeding of spider mites in soybean fields.

Timely protective measures help safeguard plants from this pest, but there are situations where such measures could not be applied, leading to significant spread and damage to plants already at the pod formation stage, writes SuperAgronom.com.

What to do in such a situation was explained by Yuriy Drobiazko, owner of “Agrarian Technology Company” (ATK).

He states that a comprehensive approach is needed here. For example, treatment with a mixture of 3 preparations.

“First of all, a high dose of a pyrethroid is necessary — whether with the active ingredient bifenthrin or lambda-cyhalothrin. Calculated at a standard of 300-400 g/ha. This is to kill the mites already present in the crops. The second, for example, with the active ingredient fenpyroximate (say, Caligula) at the full dose (150 g/ha). And the third component, hexythiazox (for example, Prefect EC) — 300 g/ha,” — noted the specialist.

He added that it is advisable to add an oil-based adjuvant to this tank mix, about 200-300 ml per 100 liters of water.
