BEDNAR SWIFTER compactor
In the Kirovohrad region, the agricultural enterprise “Zolotarivske” reduced costs for pre-sowing soil preparation by abandoning double cultivation in favor of a single pass with a BEDNAR SWIFTER compactor. The chief agronomist of the farm, Yuriy Magdiy, told Kukrkul.com about this.
“If earlier we performed two cultivations before sowing, now one is enough. We have savings in time, fuel, and resources,” the agronomist summarizes.
The decision was made after their own experiment, when part of the field was prepared with a conventional cultivator and another part with a compactor, and the results were compared.

“The difference became noticeable already after the emergence of seedlings. In the areas where the compactor worked, the soybean and sunflower seedlings were more uniform and friendly,” says Yuriy Magdiy.
In his assessment, the result of one pass of the compactor is comparable to two passes with a conventional cultivator. “Zolotarivske” primarily uses the compactor for pre-sowing soil preparation for sunflowers and soybeans, and from August, they plan to use it for preparing areas for sowing winter rapeseed.
