Prices for certain complex fertilizers have risen in the Ukrainian market. Over the past week, sulfamo-phosphate (NPS/NP) has seen an increase of 300–500 UAH/ton. This information is reported by AGROTRADE CLUB and published by Latifundist.com.
The reason for this price adjustment is a reduction in the supply of phosphate fertilizers in Europe, following the shutdown of the Lithuanian Lifosa plant. This event has decreased the European availability of DAP, MAP, and NPS by approximately 1 million tons annually. Consequently, prices for phosphate fertilizers in Europe have climbed, despite subdued demand, and the European market’s reliance on Moroccan imports is intensifying.
The logistical situation via the Danube River remains volatile, with further complications potentially arising from Russian shelling in the Mayaky region.
An additional upward pressure on prices has come from Polish manufacturers, Siarczopol and FOSFAN, who revised their August prices upwards starting August 11th. According to AGROTRADE CLUB data, superphosphate 19% is currently offered at 22.8–23.4 thousand UAH/ton FCA, sulfamo-phosphate NPS 20:20 at 29.0–29.5 thousand UAH/ton FCA, and sulfamo-phosphate NPS 16:20 at 28.0–28.5 thousand UAH/ton FCA.
