Maersk redirects cargo from Chornomorsk to Constanta, RomaniaMaersk has temporarily suspended its container service to the Chornomorsk port due to deteriorating safety conditions and increased Russian strikes on port infrastructure.This was announced by Maersk Ukraine.The company noted that due to the current situation, the feeder operator cannot continue servicing the Ukrainian route via the Chornomorsk port. Consequently, the container service through the port of Chornomorsk is temporarily halted until further notice.
Import Cargo Will Be Rerouted to Constanta
The vessel Medkon Mira V.629S, which was scheduled to unload imported goods at the Chornomorsk port, will be redirected to the port of Constanta, Romania.All import shipments destined for Chornomorsk that are currently in Port Said or en route to it will also be rerouted to the Romanian port.If Constanta is not a suitable unloading location, customers can submit a Change of Destination request.
Two Options Offered for Exports
For export bookings with Chornomorsk as the loading port, the company has proposed two alternatives:
- Free cancellation of bookings without penalty fees.
- Changing the loading port from Chornomorsk to Constanta for containers already at the port, while maintaining the current ocean freight rate.
Maersk emphasized that all cancellation or booking modification requests must be coordinated through customer service representatives. Making changes independently through the company’s online services may result in automatic penalty charges and freight cost recalculations.
Cargo Delivery Will Be Arranged via Romania
