Ukrainian farmers have already threshed 10.65 million tons of grain from the new harvest. Early cereals and leguminous crops have been threshed from an area of 2.6 million hectares, which is 22% of the planned areas. The harvesting of barley and wheat is proceeding most actively, while the harvesting of peas is practically complete.
This is reported by the Ministry of Agrarian Policy as of July 28.
Specifically, the following have been harvested:
- wheat threshed from 1,531.7 thousand hectares (30% of the areas), with 6.61 million tons threshed at an average yield of 4.32 t/ha;
- barley – 790.0 thousand hectares (53%), with 3.49 million tons threshed at a yield of 4.42 t/ha;
- peas – 279.5 thousand hectares (94.6%), with 549.5 thousand tons threshed at a yield of 1.97 t/ha.
In terms of the volume of early cereal and leguminous crop harvesting, farmers in Odesa, Mykolaiv, and Dnipropetrovsk regions are currently leading.
Harvest in Ukraine: which regions have collected the most grain
- Odesa region – 2,425.7 thousand tons from an area of 586.7 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,252.1 thousand tons, barley – 988.9 thousand tons, peas – 184.7 thousand tons);
- Mykolaiv region – 1,797.8 thousand tons from an area of 514.1 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,152.0 thousand tons, barley – 539.0 thousand tons, peas – 106.8 thousand tons);
- Dnipropetrovsk region – 1,493.0 thousand tons from an area of 376.4 thousand hectares (wheat – 1,087.2 thousand tons, barley – 379.0 thousand tons, peas – 26.8 thousand tons).
In addition to early cereals and leguminous crops, rapeseed harvesting is ongoing in Ukraine. As of July 28, it has been threshed from an area of 539.6 thousand hectares, or 41% of the planned area, and 1.31 million tons of the oilseed crop have been threshed.
